Theresa Moxley – President

THERESA MOXLEY is the proud mother of two young men, her youngest, Matthew was diagnosed with Coffin-Lowry Syndrome (CLS) in 1997. Theresa’s family utilized resources from the CLS Foundation since her sons diagnosis. Theresa became the President of the CLS Foundation in 2022.

Theresa graduated from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, AL with a B.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering. She retired from Northrop Grumman in 2024 after a 40 year career in Missile Defense. Theresa, her husband Larry, and their son, Matthew reside in Madison, AL. Their older son, works and lives nearby in Huntsville, AL.


Margaret Morton – Vice President

MARGARET MORTON has been inspired for over thirty years by the tenacity and tenderness of her friends, Theresa and Larry, in caring for their son who was diagnosed with CLS at a young age. She has seen firsthand the rewards reaped by their active advocacy and hopes to help in raising awareness of CLS and providing information and resources for families and other caregivers.

Margaret graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics and earned a M.S. degree in Numerical Science from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D./A.M. degree from Duke Law School. Prior to retirement, she served as general counsel of several General Electric Energy businesses in Atlanta. While her background is in legal services, she has been involved in her community in a variety of volunteer roles, including Make-A-Wish Georgia Board of Directors and Angels Among Us Pet Rescue. Margaret and her husband, Trey, reside in Marietta, GA.


Larry Moxley – Secretary/Treasurer

LARRY MOXLEY serves as the Secretary and Treasurer of the CLSF Board of Directors. Larry and Theresa are the parents of two sons, their youngest, Matthew, was born with CLS. Larry and Theresa hosted the 2022 CLS Family Gathering in Huntsville, AL.

Larry previously served as the President of the Board of Directors of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), Huntsville, AL as well as serving on the State (Alabama) Board of Directors. Larry graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Accounting and earned a JD from Birmingham School of Law. Larry recently retired after a long career in Contracts and Law.


Mary Hoffman – Board Member

After her son Davis was diagnosed with CLS in 1991, MARY HOFFMAN went on to found the Coffin-Lowry Syndrome Foundation which she operated for over 30 years. She is a co-author of The Movement Disorders of Coffin-Lowry Syndrome.

Mary graduated from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Computer Studies. She retired from Microsoft in 2023 after 27 years, and operated CLSF in her spare time for over 30 years while working full time and raising two boys as a single mother.  Mary has transitioned her operational role with CLSF but remains on the Board of Directors.


Carol Daniel – Board Member

CAROL DANIEL is a Corporate Executive in the Aerospace & Missile Defense Community and leads a small business centered in Huntsville, Alabama. A native of North Alabama, Carol is a graduate of Auburn University and the University of Alabama/Huntsville. She is a Systems Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the Aerospace & Missile Defense domain.

Committed to her community, Carol has volunteered in support of public school and community theatre organizations, serving previously on boards of two non-profit organizations. Introduced to Coffin-Lowry Syndrome through the son of good friends and long-time colleagues, Carol became involved in the CLS Foundation when volunteering in support of the 2022 CLS Family Gathering and is honored to continue to support efforts of the CLS Foundation.
